We were founded in memory of Yasmine McClory, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from a pulmonary embolism in February 2024.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, girlfriend, mum-to-be, grandchild, friend, musician, streamer, and gamer - missed by everyone who ever had the privilege to meet her.
Yasmine was an incredibly caring individual, often going out of her way to check in on people she knew were struggling and taking action to improve the world around her.
In May 2024, we launched the Yasmine McClory Foundation as a way to honour Yasmine's legacy by supporting people in need in our communities - specifically focusing on:
Increasing access to food for those experiencing food poverty
Providing mental health support to LGBTQ+ young people
Improving healthcare experiences for women and young people
When we founded the Yasmine McClory Foundation, we decided to become a non-profit community interest company instead of a charity. Being a Community Interest Company (CIC) has given us more flexibility to support new causes as issues arise in the world - helping those who need it as they need it, exactly how Yasmine would have.
Since launching the Yasmine McClory Foundation, the support of our local community has transformed vision into action.
Through impactful social media campaigns, we’ve sparked important conversations about health conditions and championed better communication in healthcare — reaching, educating, and empowering people far beyond our immediate network.
Our events have become more than fundraisers. They are moments of connection — bringing communities together, raising vital funds for our projects, and strengthening awareness of our mission.
What began as a small food-growing initiative has flourished into a thriving production project. With a dedicated allotment for crops and a growing flock of chickens in our local field, we’re producing more fresh food than ever before. Combined with generous donations from our supporters, this has enabled us to provide regular contributions to Bassetlaw Food Bank and The Friary shelter — ensuring practical help reaches those who need it most.
We’re also proud to partner with My Solutions Wellbeing in Nottingham, through whom we have funded 18 counselling sessions for LGBTQ+ young people — creating safe, supportive spaces where they can access the help they deserve.
Together, this is what community looks like in action.
